With experience across agency, ship owning, commodity trading, and operations, our team combines commercial insight with hands-on execution. This enables us to act quickly, think ahead, and deliver tailored freight solutions to our clients.
We are strongly positioned in the short-sea segment, with a particular focus on trades within Atlantic. At the same time, our expertise extends across a broader vessel spectrum up to handysize, allowing us to support a wide range of cargo requirements.

MORREL maritime was founded in 2026 by Morten Peder Jensen, built on a genuine passion for freight and deep experience across the maritime value chain.
We are a relationship-driven company with a strong global network and a clear purpose: to support our clients in navigating freight markets and managing risk in commodity trading.
We believe in straightforward collaboration, long-term thinking, and partnerships built on trust.
WHY ARE WE CALLED MORREL maritime?
MORREL maritime is named after Monsieur Morrel, a shipowner in Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo. He represents integrity, fairness, and loyalty.
We were inspired by his sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment to keeping his word, even in difficult circumstances.
These values are at the core of how we want to operate today. In a market driven by timing, relationships, and execution, we believe integrity is not just a principle – it is a competitive strength.

Morten Peder Jensen
Founder, MORREL maritime (est. 2026)
Prior to founding MORREL maritime, Morten served as CCO and Partner at Navi Merchants A/S (part of Copenhagen Merchant Group), focusing on commercial strategy and dry bulk freight.
He has built his career across the dry bulk shipping industry, from early roles at Schultz Shipping Group to senior positions at operators such as DS NORDEN and A.P. Moller - Maersk, gaining broad experience across chartering, freight trading, and vessel operations.
Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of cargo flows and freight markets, developing a strong understanding of how physical trade drives shipping economics.
At MORREL maritime, he leads strategy, commercial development, and client relations with a focus on a transparent, execution-driven freight platform.
Troels Hjaltelin
Troels Hjaltelin joined MORREL maritime shortly after its establishment.
Prior to this, he served as Senior Chartering Manager at Integrity Bulk, a Danish handysize operator, from 2017 until its successful sale to Centurion Bulk in 2024.
He began his career in dry shipping at Carbofer Maritime, the shipping arm of Swiss commodity trader Carbofer Trading. After completing his traineeship, he spent four years at DS NORDEN in operations, followed by two years in chartering in Annapolis, USA.
Throughout his career, Troels has been driven by a strong interest in the underlying physical trade that generates demand for freight and shipping, giving him deep insight into how cargo flows translate into market dynamics.
At MORREL maritime, he supports back-office operations and works closely with Morten Peder Jensen, contributing operational strength and strategic support to the platform.

At MORREL maritime, we benefit greatly from an experienced advisory board that provides strategic sparring, commercial insight, and access to strong international networks within the maritime industry.
The advisory board plays an important role in challenging our thinking and supporting key strategic decisions, ensuring they are grounded in both deep industry experience and strong commercial judgment.
Our advisory board consists of Martin Egvang, Jakob Grane, and Frederik Lotz.
Former CEO of Lauritzen Bulkers and founder and CEO of Integrity Bulk, Martin Egvang brings extensive leadership experience from global dry bulk shipping. Prior to founding Integrity Bulk, he held senior management roles at Clipper Bulk, Armada Bulk, and A.P. Moller - Maersk. He has a strong focus on commercial performance, business development, and long-term client relationships.
Jakob Grane contributes broad experience in strategic advisory and business development, supporting organizations with transformation, growth strategy, and executive decision-making. He brings valuable perspective on structuring, governance, and commercial positioning.
Frederik Lotz is a former senior finance executive with 25 years of experience from larger international and global organizations including shipping and logistics. He brings strong analytical and strategic capabilities to MORREL maritime coupled with deep operational understanding across industries.
Together, they strengthen MORREL maritime's strategic direction, challenge assumptions, and support our ambition to build a transparent and execution-driven freight platform with a strong commercial foundation and international outlook.
